Her Story
Mackenzie Dugas KPA-CTP
Mackenzie Dugas began her journey to becoming a professional trainer at a young age, as she graduated from Essex Agricultural and Technical High School with a concentration in Companion Animal Pet Shop Management. Today, she is an Animal Care graduate from Becker College, a Certified Training Partner through the Karen Pryor Academy and a member of the APDT.
Mackenzie has always had a passion for animals, even before she began studying and practicing obedience, agility, and service animal training in Maine. From wildlife rehabilitation in her home state of Massachusetts, to working in the stables on a ranch in Colorado, she has extensive experience working with all kinds of furry friends, and can't wait to work with yours! Whether working with a pup for solo lessons or pup-and-parent team, Mackenzie goal is to craft a well-rounded curriculum focused on education and practice, making the training process informative, and stress-free!
Thanks to ACTS (Assistance Canine Training Services), Mackenzie has connected with a variety of trainers and programs, providing her with hands-on experience, allowing her to study alongside mentors in her field, and hone her skills to deliver the most effective services for your and your pup's needs.
Once moving to Portland, ME she got her first purebred pup, a Border Collie named Sebastian. A Border Collie was always her dream dog and has been such an inspiration and a fun dog to train. She has continued to learn great things from him and he will always help her to learn and grow!
Remember there is never just one thing to teach your dog, it never gets old!
